Bee-ing Busy at Lumphinnans Primary! 🐝

I had an amazing morning at Lumphinnans Primary School recently, spending 2.5 hours buzzing around with pupils from P1 to P7 as part of our Bees for Education workshops.

I brought along an observation hive (yes, real bees!), some of my beekeeping kit, and plenty of fun facts to share.

We explored what goes on inside a hive, the different types of bees and the roles they play, how honey is made, and what life is like for a beekeeper.

The kids were absolutely brilliant—full of curiosity and great questions. One pupil said, "This is so cool, I didn't know there would be so many!" when they saw the hive up close. Another noticed, "The hive feels so warm where they are buzzing together," which was such a lovely observation of how the bees work as one big team.

It’s always a joy to share the magic of bees with young minds, and Lumphinnans definitely didn’t disappoint. Thanks so much for having me – I had a blast!
